The Tennessee Safety & Health Council is a joint membership chapter of the National Safety Council serving the state of Tennessee.

As a recognized Chapter of the National Safety Council, the Tennessee Safety & Health Council is dedicated to understanding and interpreting best practices for achieving organizational processes, which are proactive in protecting human life, property and the environment.

As the nation's largest non-profit safety and health membership service organization, the Safety Council offers an unparalleled spectrum of resources to help communities build and support safety and health initiatives in all aspects of life – on the job, on the road and in the home and community.

Unintentional injuries are the fifth leading cause of death in this country and the leading cause of death for Americans under 45 years old. The Council believes that such incidents are not just random occurrences, but instead result form multiple conditions involving the interactions of machines and environments with people as they live, work, drive, and play. The Council views what some call “accidents” as unplanned, unwanted and nearly always preventable events.

The Tennessee Safety & Health Council has been dedicating our resources to the prevention of all kinds of accidents, and the promotion of safety and well-being in the work place and the community at large. We believe safety is in everybody's best interest. We believe safety has value. We know that the training programs we offer result in fewer injuries and lost work time, safer environments and employees, and increased productivity.
